A rideshare app does not solve this. Our transportation support is door-through-door: the caregiver comes to the door, helps with the coat and the walker, drives, parks, walks the client in, waits through the appointment, helps carry the paperwork and the bags, and sees them back inside and settled. For a client who is unsteady, hard of hearing, or anxious in a waiting room, the waiting is the service.
Common uses are physician and specialist visits, dialysis and infusion appointments, physical therapy, lab work, the pharmacy, the grocery store, the bank, the barber, and social outings that families rightly refuse to treat as optional. Transportation is frequently combined with companion care so the same familiar caregiver handles both the ride and the rest of the day.
How Care Begins
1. Tell us the appointment
Recurring treatment schedules and one-off visits are both fine. Give us the address and the time and we build the ride around it, including travel and wait time.
2. A caregiver who knows the client
Wherever possible the driver is the client’s regular caregiver, not a stranger dispatched for a single trip.
3. Support through the visit, not just to the door
The caregiver waits, assists in and out, and can take notes for the family when the client asks them to.
4. A report home
You find out how it went — what the office said, what was scheduled next — instead of reconstructing it from a crumpled appointment card.
